Problem definition
NORSOK-Z-014 has 3 WBS classifications. Are they distinct
and independent?
Feasible alternatives
NORSOK Z-014 PRESENTS 3 WBS options;
PBS – Physical Breakdown Structure
SAB – Standard Activity Breakdown
COR – Code of Resources

The COR codes show all cost elements of the WBS which
happens in the SAB phases. The PBS codes only shows process and utilities which
is a summation of the various COR code cost elements.
Performance monitoring and evaluation
The 3 NORSOK Z-014 coding systems are complimentary.

Hi Charlie,
ReplyDeleteGreat case study and you asked a really good question...... "Are they distinct and independent?
BUT, you really didn't answer it.....??? Yes, you said in performance reporting (which was not the appropriate place to put it) you said they were complimentary, but I don't seen anything in your research or analysis which SHOWS or SUPPORTS that claim. Simply listing a bunch of activities and codes is not proof... Sorry....
My suggestion would be to go to Jean Yves Moines 3D blogspot... http://3d-wbs.blogspot.com/
Using "Snag It" software, capture some of Jean Piere's graphics and using those, explain your question again.
You have a great case study and something that is very important, but the way you posted it above doesn't make any sense, meaning I have no choice but to reject it.
Try again but next time label it "W5.1_OCharlie_NorsokZ-014 Codes.
Frankly, I think you could build your entire paper pretty much around what Jean-Yves has done.
Just be sure to cite his references appropriately. Same with the TCMF. That also is not cited properly.
